Position: Nanny/ Family Assistant

Job Summary
The Household Manager/Nanny is responsible for providing attentive childcare, household organization, and schedule management for a private family with three pre-teen children. This role requires reliability, strong organizational skills, and the ability to balance childcare responsibilities with household support.
Work Schedule
- Core hours: 1/3 PM - 6/7 PM; depending on the candidates availability.
- Saturday availability for 4 hours would be a bonus- not required.
- Additional morning and weekend hours may be requested with prior notice and mutual agreement
- Schedule adjustments will be communicated in advance
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: Up to $28/ hour depending on experience.
- Guaranteed Pay: Minimum of 30 hours per week, regardless of actual hours worked
- Mileage Reimbursement: At the IRS mileage rate (currently .70 cents per mile) for work-related travel. This does not include commuting to and from work.
- Expense Reimbursement: Pre-approved work-related expenses reimbursed with receipts
- Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day
- Vacation: Preferred alignment with the children’s two-week summer trip; four weeks’ notice required for planned vacation.
ResponsibilitiesChildcare Duties
- Provide attentive supervision and care for three pre-teen children
- Manage daily routines, including school pick-up/drop-off and extracurricular activities
- Assist with homework, school projects, and educational support
- Foster age-appropriate independence, responsibility, and positive behavior
- Organize and oversee playdates, outings, and extracurricular engagements
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks according to dietary needs
Household Management Duties
- Coordinate daily schedules to ensure smooth household operations
- Maintain an organized, clean environment in areas used by the children
- Assist with household tasks, including laundry, tidying, and meal preparation
- Run errands such as grocery shopping and school supply restocking (following detailed lists and instructions)
- Arrange and oversee home maintenance or service appointments as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding the children’s progress and any concerns
Work Environment Expectations
- Maintain a scent-free work environment (avoid perfumes, scented lotions, strong fragrances)
- Ensure compliance with household rules and routines
- Follow established communication guidelines for reporting concerns or updates
- Problem-solve independently when necessary, using available tools and resources
Job Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
- Strong problem-solving and time management skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and anticipate household needs
- Experience in childcare and household management preferred
- Clear and professional communication skills
