Professional Nanny - Dayton, Ohio

Overview:

A warm and structured family is seeking a nurturing, organized, and reliable nanny to care for their young child. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, independence, and developmentally appropriate activities while maintaining a structured yet flexible approach to daily routines. The family values positive reinforcement and redirection in discipline, limits screen time, and encourages exploration and learning through play.

Schedule & Start Date:

• Preferred start: As soon as the right candidate is found
• Schedule: Wednesday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
• Potential expansion to Monday–Friday in the future

Compensation & Benefits:

• Hourly rate: $22–$25 per hour
• PTO: 6 days per year
• Sick leave: 2 days per year
• Paid holidays (if they fall on a scheduled workday)
• Mileage reimbursement for job-related driving

Job Responsibilities:

Childcare Duties:

• Engaging in developmentally appropriate play and structured activities
• Supporting child’s independence and exploration
• Attending outings such as story time and park visits
• Preparing baby food (purees)
• Cleaning and sanitizing toys
• Child’s laundry and maintaining stocked baby supplies
• Adhering to household rules, including limited screen time and no shoes indoors

Household Tasks (if willing, with additional compensation):

• Light housekeeping related to the child’s care
• Being flexible and assisting with additional household tasks as needed

Transportation Requirements:

• Nanny will use their own car for outings, with mileage reimbursement provided
• Child’s car seat will be provided by the family
• Future responsibility may include transporting to pre-k (2 minutes away)

Ideal Candidate:

• Organized, clean, and maintains good hygiene
• Laid-back yet proactive, nurturing, and attentive
• Experienced in caring for infants and toddlers
• Comfortable with a structured but flexible home environment
• Punctual and willing to assist with household needs as necessary
• Open to feedback and a good communicator

Additional Considerations:

• Must be comfortable with family’s policies (no strong perfumes, no shoes indoors)
• Vaccination requirements: Must have TDAP and flu shots; a non-vaccinated candidate would not be a good fit
• Must be willing to care for the child during mild illnesses and, if needed, accompany them to doctor appointments
