Estimating Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Estimating Manager to lead our estimating team in the precision machining industry. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in estimating and configuring machining processes with the ability to effectively negotiate prices and contracts and capture all cost associated with the entirety of the contract. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can build accurate estimates while ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties

• Oversee the estimating process for precision machining of aerospace, defense, medical, and commercial products while ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, purchasing and scheduling to gather necessary information for cost estimation.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bids. Contract review of all request for quotes to insure requirements are obtainable.
• Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive rates.
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the estimating team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and best practices in estimating.

Experience

• Proven experience in precision machining to include 3,4,5 axis milling, mill turn, swiss screw machining, edm wire, and assembly. Applicant must be able to capture all time, material and outsourcing cost from past experience in precision machining
• Strong understanding of machining principles and methodologies.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable contract terms.
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
