What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Designer/Drafter position at Hunt Electric?
Hunt Electric, Inc. is seeking a full-time Assistant Designer/ Drafter to join our team within the DAS department of Hunt Electric’s Technology Division.
This position requires self-motivation and self-management of work with strong interpersonal skills to meet with users in a face-to-face environment. The Assistant Designer/Drafter will work on a team with engineers, project manager(s), and other iBwave, CAD and Revit operators to produce wireless construction models and drawings. In addition, the position will assist in further development and refinement of existing design standards, practices, and procedures currently in place.
Major Duties:
- Import structure/facility floorplans, scale, and set properties in industry design software.
- Assist in producing constructible, neat, and clear wireless system designs for installation crews to follow, under supervision of lead engineer or Project Manager using computer-aided drafting software for wireless systems.
- Assemble design and required pre-construction project documentation, for delivery to client or other interested parties under supervision of the Project Manager.
- Prepare permit and project submittal packages.
- Prepare Operations and Maintenance (O&M) submittal packages.
- Assist in producing plan review response letters and documentation.
- Produce CAD/Revit renderings to include room layout and rack elevation drawings as needed, under supervision of lead engineer or Project Manager.
- Incorporate photos, test data, field data, and site information from field crew(s) and assemble project closeout documentation.
- Work daily in an office environment.
- Other duties or locations as assigned by Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A.A.S. in Computer-Aided Drafting (or working toward).
- Experience in AutoCAD.
- iBwave level 1 or higher.
- Revit MEP experience.
- 1 Years work experience in Computer-Aided design.
- Experience working with Professional Engineers, CAD operators, and other team members.
- Experience with building interference modeling / coordination studies.
- Proficient in using MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Possess ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Organized and Detail-oriented.
This full-time Assistant Designer/Drafter position receives a competitive salary commensurate with experience and position responsibilities. Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position with a typical working schedule of Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am - 4:00 pm, Friday, 7:00 am – 2:00 pm.
