Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Fuel Tanker Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting liquid cargo in a tanker truck, ensuring the safe and timely delivery of products to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety regulations and excellent driving skills, including experience with manual transmission vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Operate tanker trucks to transport liquid cargo to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
- Load and unload cargo as required, utilizing forklift or other equipment when necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance on the vehicle to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in route planning to optimize delivery efficiency.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for tanker operation.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving, specifically with tanker trucks.
- Familiarity with route driving and navigation systems.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles effectively.
- Experience with flatbed trucks or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
