Power Distribution Designer/Staker Essential Job Functions
- Assist in the design of medium-voltage distribution lines for electric utility clients.
- Perform fieldwork to collect GPS data, conduct equipment inventories, and identify optimal line routes.
- Support senior team members by acting as a design or staking assistant during field assignments.
- Obtain field measurements and prepare preliminary sketches.
- Analyze data from various sources, including reports, maps, drawings, product catalogs, and aerial photographs, to aid in project planning and design.
- Communicate directly with clients regarding project-specific needs.
- Prepare and verify design calculations, sketches, and quantity estimates.
- Conduct site visits and field assignments as required.
Education/Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in overhead or underground electric distribution design, surveying, or joint-use projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- A technical or associate's degree in Electric Power Technology, Electronical Technology, or Utility Line Technician is preferred.
- Must be located within daily commuting distance of Fort Collins, CO.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying conditions and indoors in an office setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
