Position Summary & Duties : The E&I Designer is a direct-hire position working at the HGA office in Baton Rouge, LA.
The E&I Designer position is a role that leads the design efforts for one or more projects in support of a Lead Engineer. Emphasis will be placed on communication with Lead Engineer on a regular basis, ability to interface effectively with all levels of project staff or management, overall production of deliverables and delegation of assignments to designers and / or drafters to meet project schedules.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assume the design efforts for project(s) assigned.
- Create design deliverables based on discussions with Lead Engineer and / or project team.
- Attend project meetings as required
- Ensure Company and / or Client Drafting Standards and design practices are being utilized, as appropriate for project.
- Ensure engineering design principles and practices are adhered to.
- Review vendor documentation and adjusting design as appropriate to match equipment and materials being supplied
- Assist with development of construction cost (TIC) estimates
- Assist with development of engineering and design budgets for proposals
- Engage in inter-discipline communications such as, squad checks, interference identification, equipment layout and general design coordination.
- Utilize engineering software to assist in project development / engineering calculations
- Make site visits, as required, for project data collection to aid in design and engineering calculations
- Check all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for review.
- Complete work in an efficient manner to assist project team in meeting deadlines.
