The Opportunity

We're seeking an experienced Advertising, Marketing & Promotions Associate or Counsel to join one of our esteemed clients. This role offers a unique opportunity to advise businesses across diverse industries on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns. You'll contribute your expertise to navigating complex regulatory landscapes while supporting innovative and impactful strategies for a wide range of clients.

What You'll Do

Advise with Expertise : Provide counsel on advertising, marketing, and promotional campaigns for compliance with state, federal, and international laws.
Draft and Negotiate : Prepare agreements related to ad agencies, influencers, celebrity endorsements, sponsorships, online media buying, and more.
Analyze and Review : Ensure ad copy complies with laws regarding false advertising, claim substantiation, intellectual property, and publicity rights.
Counsel for Compliance : Offer guidance on contests, sweepstakes, price advertising, subscription programs, loyalty / rewards programs, and other marketing initiatives.
Support Legal Defense : Represent clients in disputes, including false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division matters.

What You Bring to the Table

Experience : At least seven years of relevant experience in advertising law, consumer protection law, and marketing transactions.

Education : J.D. from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials.

Skills : Exceptional legal writing, communication, and attention to detail.

Mindset : Collaborative approach with the ability to thrive in both group settings and independently.

Preferred Qualifications : Experience in a large or medium law firm, hybrid work environment availability, and admission to the Washington State Bar (preferred but not required).

Your Skillset

Marketing and Advertising Law : Deep understanding of compliance requirements and regulatory frameworks.

Contract Expertise : Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of agreements related to marketing and promotions.

Strategic Counseling : Experience in advising clients on loyalty programs, subscription models, and pricing strategies.

Dispute Resolution : Knowledge of false advertising, unfair competition, and National Advertising Division procedures.
