The Role : Construction Law Associate | Chicago, IL

We are seeking an experienced and driven Construction Law Associate to join a leading team in Chicago, IL. This role offers the opportunity to engage in complex construction litigation and alternative dispute resolution (ADR), contributing to groundbreaking legal strategies for clients across various industries.

In this position, you will :

Represent clients in a wide array of construction-related disputes, including delay and disruption claims, payment disputes (mechanics liens, bonds, and stop notices), product liability, and breach of contract cases.
Develop creative and effective litigation strategies tailored to client needs.
Draft motions, briefs, and legal documentation with exceptional precision and clarity.
Manage discovery, depositions, and support trial and appellate preparations.
Collaborate with a skilled team to tackle cutting-edge legal challenges and provide top-tier client service.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who bring the following qualifications and attributes :

Experience and Expertise

Law school graduate between [XXXX-XXXX] with at least 2 years of experience in construction law or equivalent complex litigation.

Proven litigation experience, including discovery, motion practice, and depositions.

Experience with ADR processes and client counseling is highly advantageous.

Educational Credentials

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier, accredited law school with outstanding academic performance.

Core Competencies

Legal Acumen : Strong skills in legal research, drafting, analytical reasoning, and persuasive communication.

Strategic Thinking : Demonstrated ability to craft and implement innovative legal strategies.

Collaboration and Leadership : Proven capacity to work in cross-functional teams and mentor junior attorneys.

Additional Attributes

IL Bar membership required.

Prior AM Law 100 experience or judicial clerkship preferred.
