The Role : Life Sciences Patent Agent | Washington, D.C.

We are seeking a skilled and driven Life Sciences Patent Agent to join one of our prestigious clients in their Washington, D.C. office. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work on groundbreaking patent prosecution matters for some of the worlds leading technology and life sciences companies.

In this position, you will :

Prepare and prosecute complex patent applications related to cutting-edge life sciences innovations, including organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry.
Collaborate with inventors, research teams, and legal counsel to secure robust patent protections for novel therapeutics and biotechnologies.
Draft detailed and persuasive office action responses to strengthen patent applications.
Advise clients on strategic intellectual property portfolio management to maximize patent value and competitive positioning.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We're looking for candidates who bring :

Experience : At least 2 years of patent prosecution experience, preferably focused on life sciences.

Credentials : A PhD (or MD) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or a related field, and USPTO registration.

Communication Skills : Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively collaborate with inventors and research teams.

Technical Acumen : Deep expertise in life sciences innovations and the ability to translate complex discoveries into strong patent claims.
