The Role : Lateral Associate - Corporate - Restructuring & Special Situations Finance | Los Angeles, CA

We are seeking a driven and highly qualified associate to join a top-tier Finance and Business Restructuring & Reorganization team in Los Angeles, CA. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-profile and sophisticated financial transactions and restructuring matters, delivering impactful solutions for a global clientele.

Practice Expertise and Focus

This opportunity is with a globally recognized firm known for its leadership in finance and restructuring. Key highlights include :

Liability Management Leadership : Extensive experience in DIP financings, bankruptcy exit financings, and special situations financings.
Capital Structure Expertise : Representing hedge funds, CLOs, private equity funds, and other financial institutions in Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.
Collaborative Environment : Working across the Global Finance and Business Restructuring & Reorganization teams to tackle multifaceted legal challenges.

In this position, you will :

Advise Clients : Represent creditors and borrowers in liability management transactions, DIP financings, and bankruptcy exit financings.

Develop Legal Strategies : Design innovative solutions to address complex financial challenges.

Draft and Negotiate Agreements : Prepare comprehensive legal documents for sophisticated financial and restructuring matters.

Collaborate Across Practices : Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver client-focused results.

Lead High-Stakes Cases : Engage in top-of-the-capital-structure representations for industry-leading clients.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate the following qualifications and attributes :

Experience and Expertise

Experience Level : Law school graduate from 2016 to 2019 with significant experience in liability management transactions, DIP financings, and special situations financings.

Industry Knowledge : Expertise in Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.

Educational Credentials

Juris Doctor (JD) : Degree from a top-tier, accredited law school with exceptional academic performance.

Bar Admission : Active membership in good standing or eligibility to waive into the California Bar.

Legal Acumen : Proficient in drafting, negotiating, and managing complex financial transactions.

Strategic Thinking : Skilled in crafting innovative legal strategies for multifaceted challenges.
