The Role : Patent Agent (Biotechnology) | Boston, MA

We are seeking a skilled and driven Patent Agent (Biotechnology) to join the firms IP team in Boston. This role offers the opportunity to work with world-class clients in the biotech sector, drafting and prosecuting patent applications and building robust intellectual property portfolios.

In This Position, You Will :

Manage patent portfolios and coordinate prosecution with foreign associates across jurisdictions.
Draft office action responses and prosecute U.S. patent applications.
Collaborate with scientists and inventors to draft detailed and accurate patent applications.
Assess scientific literature, patents, and patent application documents in the field of biological sciences.
Conduct patent-landscape and freedom-to-operate searches and assist with related analysis.
Partner with investors to conduct IP diligence for potential investments.
Provide IP diligence support for biotechnology initial public offerings (IPOs) and other capital markets transactions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience and Expertise

2 years of patent prosecution experience, preferably in biotechnology-related fields.

Strong background in patent application drafting, with the ability to work independently from invention disclosures or inventor interviews.

Educational Credentials

Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related fields.

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is required.
