The Role : Patent Prosecution Associate - Patents & Emerging Technologies | Silicon Valley, CA

We are seeking a skilled and driven Patent Prosecution Associate to join one of our distinguished clients in their Silicon Valley office. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to work at the forefront of innovation, helping startups and established companies protect groundbreaking technologies in areas such as AI, software, biotechnology, and data science.

In this position, you will :

Serve as a primary contact for startup clients, providing expert guidance on patent strategy and prosecution.
Draft, file, and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications for cutting-edge innovations.
Collaborate with inventors and technical teams to understand complex discoveries and translate them into robust patent claims.
Support litigation and corporate transactions by offering technical expertise on patent-related matters.
Work across multidisciplinary teams to enhance client success in securing valuable IP protections.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We're looking for candidates who bring :

Experience : 2 to 10 years of patent prosecution experience, including serving as a primary contact for clients, preferably startups.

Credentials : A technical degree (preferably M.S. or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Physics, or a related field. USPTO bar membership is required.

Skills : Superior technological background, strong academic credentials, and excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Analytical Acumen : A proven ability to draft comprehensive patent applications and respond to office actions with persuasive arguments.

Collaboration : A team-oriented mindset with a passion for supporting clients as they navigate IP protection challenges.
