Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal Assistant to join our law office. The ideal candidate will support attorneys in various legal tasks, including research, document preparation, and case management. This role requires a strong understanding of legal principles in the area of litigation and estate administration, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Assist in the drafting of legal documents, including pleadings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
- Manage case files and maintain organized document management systems for easy retrieval of information.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and coordinating with witnesses.
- Draft correspondence and communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
- File documents with courts and other relevant agencies as required.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while adhering to ethical standards in the legal profession.
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a paralegal or in a similar role.
- Familiarity with contested probate proceedings, elder law, guardianships and civil trial experience is a plus.
- Excellent proofreading skills with keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in legal drafting and document management.
- Ability to transcribe accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
