What are the responsibilities and job description for the Drafter/Designer position at Hunt Leavitt Construction?
Leavitt Land & Investment, Inc., is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, Drafter to join our team in Cedar City, Utah. The Drafter will apply their technical knowledge to design custom and spec. homes and small commercial buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare engineering designs and drawings from initial ideas, sketches, specification sheets, and any additional data pertinent to the project.
- Operate computer-aided design (CAD) and Chief Architect.
- Develop and prepare tenant improvement.
- Develop and prepare conceptual design sketches.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Check and verify design drawings to conform to specifications and design data.
- Work closely with homeowners and homebuilders through completion of the build.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
Education and Training
- High school diploma or equivalent required, higher education preferred.
- 2-3 years of previous drafting experience preferred.
Experience & Skills
- CAD and Chief Architect software experience, 2-3 years preferred.
- Microsoft Office experience, 1-3 years preferred.
- Communicates in an effective, clear, and organized manner in oral and written form. Follows expected guidelines regarding client and organizational communication, data sensitivity, and with appropriate regard to complexity.
- Self-directed and resourceful with regard to individual and team problem solving. Initiates new processes or ideas and channels them appropriately to improve customer service within company guidelines.
- Promotes a positive work environment by developing and maintaining healthy internal and external relationships. Open to feedback and sensitive to others.
- Maintains efficient work habits, including attendance, punctuality, safety, and appropriate use of resources.
