A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Platform and Analytics Manager, the Data Scientist works closely with senior operations leaders to define and implement data analysis and reporting strategies for the enterprise. This role will develop data pipelines to harmonize data from various sources and leverage advanced statistical analysis, machine learning, and generative AI to develop predictive models and detect anomalies across large-scale datasets. This position will design and build scripts to extract actionable insights that identify operational risk, support business process optimization, and enhance financial performance. This is a high-impact role central to the digital transformation of the entire organization and focused on driving data-driven decision-making and maximizing enterprise value.
What you will do
- Designs, builds, and optimizes scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that harmonize data from various systems and databases in Hunt’s software ecosystem.
- Prototype automations of quarterly reporting on operational and financial performance of the enterprise.
- Uses combinations of SQL and Python algorithms to automatically identify anomalies and discrepancies to ensure absolute accuracy in quarterly reports.
- Uses combinations of SQL and Python algorithms to detect operational non-compliance throughout Hunt’s systems of record.
- Maintains expertise of all developments related to software tools, databases, and operational policies and procedures.
- Collaborates within the operations team on maintenance support initiatives and strategy by providing detailed analysis of metrics and data related to operations.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define key metrics, monitor performance, and enhance business intelligence.
- Designs and develops dynamic dashboards, visualizations, and real-time reports to empower stakeholders with critical insights.
- Implements machine learning and generative AI models to optimize processes and mitigate risks.
- Documents data models, pipelines, and processes for internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field. Required or
- Master's Degree computer Science, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field. Preferred and
- 1-3 years Proven experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in an enterprise or SaaS environment. Required and
- 1-3 years Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) Required and
- 1-3 years Programatically adding and retrieving data from Excel templates Required
- 1-3 years Experience with building and managing ETL workflows and scalable data pipelines using Python and associated libraries Required
- 1-3 years Demonstrated application of machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and predictive analytics is a plus. Preferred
- 1-3 years Experience with designing cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, S3) Preferred
- 1-3 years Experience with property management maintenance operations is a plus Preferred
- 1-3 years Experience with Yardi property management platform is a plus Preferred
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a results driven mindset.
- Strong communication skills to present complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- General knowledge of financial and accounting concepts, property maintenance processes and the related to successful mutli-family operations.
- Automate data collection, transformation and analytics with scripts and lower-level programing languages (e.g. Java, python).
- Automate report generation for dashboard tools including PowerBI and Tableau.
- Convert legacy system prototypes into enterprise-grade solutions.
- Champion data governance and software best practices by tracking data quality and code versioning.
- Adherence to Agile and Kanban development best practices
- Proficiency in C/C , Java, Python, SQL, .Net, and RDBMS (Postgres etc.), and Linux.
- Familiarity with concepts including cloud computing, data integrations, and restAPIs.
- Expert knowledge of dashboard tools.
- iOS and Android mobile development experience (Objective C, Java, Swift).
- Front end experience in HTML, CSS, Javascript.
- Experience implementing JVM, Node.js, microservices, Docker, Kubernetes.
