JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the guidance of the HSE Specialist, the successful candidate will assist in developing and enhancing Power BI dashboards to support regulatory reporting for greenhouse gas emissions and flaring data. This role focuses on updating an existing dashboard used for EPA-mandated Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reporting and developing a new automated reporting system for Flaring emissions tracking. The candidate will be responsible for connecting data sources from a newly implemented software system and ensuring automation and accuracy in compliance reporting. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in regulatory reporting, data analytics, and dashboard development while contributing to high-impact environmental compliance projects.

Responsibilities

• Update and reconfigure an existing Power BI dashboard for GHG regulatory reporting, ensuring data connections align with new software systems.
• Develop a new dashboard and automated reports for required flaring and related emissions tracking, ensuring regulatory compliance and improved data accessibility.
• Work with team members to understand data sources and reporting requirements (no prior environmental knowledge required).
• Collaborate with internal teams to validate data accuracy and improve reporting efficiency.
• Assist in the development of an internal incident investigation tool.
• Assist in incorporating 2024 information into the ESG website while maintaining a consistent style, tone, and voice to deliver a clear and cohesive message.
  
  
  

Preferred Degree Background

• Rising junior or senior pursuing an undergraduate degree or master’s in IT, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
• Minimum of 3.0 grade point average.
  
  
  

Required Skills/Knowledge

• Proficiency in Power BI or Spotfire (must be able to use the software independently).
• Strong data analytics, visualization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with data connections, automation, and reporting tools.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the team or outside departments for business context.
• Strong critical thinking and adaptability.
• Excellent communication skills to translate data insights into meaningful reports.
