The hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $21.30 to $26.88

About This Role:
The International Transportation Coordinator supports the full cycle of international shipments and ensures compliance with the organization’s guidelines and the United States Administration export regulations.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks
- Assists in researching, creating, and maintaining country profiles of trade regulations and US Customs policy guidelines and restrictions for all new emerging markets for Hunter Industries.
- Works with Product Compliance to provide and review the accuracy of pertinent Harmonized Tariff Classification code for products shipped internationally.
- Coordinates the International Air and Ocean shipments of Hunter Industries and its subsidiaries. Updates International Order Tracking for ocean exports and assists in reporting carriers’ performance.
- Tracks international import shipments, updates receiving import calendar and schedules imports with freight forwarders and Hunter business units various warehouse locations.
- Prepares export documents that comply with the organization’s guidelines, as well as U.S. Export Control and C-TPAT regulations. Submits documents to freight forwarders and tacks shipments. Continually communicates status of shipments to Customer Service team.
- Works with Freight Forwarders and related vendors to understand pertinent foreign trade regulations and policy restrictions, and to obtain special statements required for various destination countries. Ensures the correctness and accuracy of shipping details described in Shippers Letter of Instructions, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificate of Origins, and any documents required by Customs at destination countries.
- Ensures that the new consignee and distributors are not on the Specially Designated Do Not Ship List reported by OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control – Department of Treasury).
- Continually monitors changes on distributor profile sheets regarding shipping and mailing requirements and instructions. When necessary, works with Customer Service team to update distributor profile sheets.
- Works closely with customer service, distribution center personnel, and various international carriers to coordinate the shipment of goods through various modes of transportation.
- Assists in the completion of monthly, quarterly, and yearly required reports pertaining to international inbound and outbound shipments.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience as a minimum in international logistics.
- Excellent knowledge of NAFTA (National Free Trade Agreement) and ability to apply rules of origin based on trade regulations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to interact with members across the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with all levels of employees.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to work with accuracy and to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Computer knowledge, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, prioritize, handle multiple tasks and to work within timelines.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Verbal and written language skills in additional languages is preferred.
