The hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $15.20 to $20.24

Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.

About This Role:
The Security Guard protects Hunter employees and facilities at our Clermont campus.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks
- Ensures all vehicle and foot traffic on property is business-related and authorized; issues access badges to authorized personnel and ensures badges are accurately recorded.
- Conducts regular patrols to ensure the safety and security of employees and facilities; monitors access control and CCTV systems.
- Responds to alarms and security-related incidents promptly.
- Ensures life safety systems and security technology are in proper working condition, acts as a liaison with vendors and contractors.
- Acts as a liaison for local law enforcement, emergency response departments, and Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism.
- Provides parking lot escort services upon request, when available.
- Acts as an emergency coordinator in the event of an accident, fire, power outage, hurricane, bomb threat, or civil disorder/violence. Makes 911 calls and notify management and appropriate team members of emergency events.
- Assists in compliance with C-TPAT and Federal OSHA standards (e.g. Fire Protection, Hazard Communication, Medical and First Aid, Exit Routes and Emergency Planning, Walking and Working Surfaces).
- Maintains a daily activity report of all security activities and unusual incidents.
- Manages lost and found system, ensure that lost items are properly recorded and stored.
- Maintains and updates key log to ensure accurate tracking of all keys issued and returned
- Supports and collaborates with Environmental Health and Safety and Office Services Departments in terms of tasks and coverage.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Florida Guard Card preferred
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certified required
- Minimum 2 years of security or related work experience.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to comprehend work instructions and interact with members across the organization.
- Ability to work within a team environment and demonstrate professional behavior.
- Strong attention to detail with organizational and time management skills. Must be open to change and able to adapt to new information and unexpected obstacles.
- Proficiency with computers, with the ability to perform data entry, view electronic procedures, and complete training courses.
- Ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
- Valid driver's license and driving record sufficient to meet requirements to be insured by company.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
