Desktop Systems Engineer – Chicago | Up to $130k Bonus | Leading Trading Firm
We are working with a leading trading firm in Chicago looking for a Desktop Systems Engineer to support and enhance their high-performance trading environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, technology-driven setting where reliability, automation, and performance are key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide enterprise-level desktop support across Windows environments in a low-latency trading setting
- Develop and implement automation solutions to streamline desktop management and deployment
- Manage endpoint security, patching, and system configurations to ensure optimal system performance
- Work closely with traders, developers, and IT teams to support critical trading applications and infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in a high-uptime environment
- Maintain best practices for system performance, security, and compliance
Key Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in desktop engineering and enterprise IT support, ideally in a financial services or trading firm environment
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems in a trading or financial services environment
- Experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
- Knowledge of endpoint security, patching, and system hardening
- Exposure to Active Directory, Group Policy, and networking fundamentals
- Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment where uptime is critical
