What are the responsibilities and job description for the HSSE Administrator position at Hunter Buildings & Manufacturing?
The HSSE Admin is responsible for assisting the HSSE Manager, Supervisor, and HSSE Team overall in planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for Hunter employees. This individual must be a self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement with the Hunter operations team.
Responsibilities
Include, but may not be limited to the following:
- Ensure that all federal state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes are observed.
- Assist in the management of all recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
- Assist in conducting accident/injury investigations and illness exposure monitoring.
- Assist in the maintenance of all required safety and health documents/files.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control systems, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate workplace accidents and injuries.
- Coordinate, assist and plan in the safety training for new employee orientation and annual required programs.
- Assist in new employee orientation training.
- Fill out badge requests for employees traveling to job sites
- Scan/Input documents into our online database
- Demonstrate the ability to identify and deliver a variety of training topics.
- Print and staple various documents in preparation for safety training
- Format and proofread documents
- Set employees up for Safety Council Training
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication, time management, and computer skills
- Must have familiarity with OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations
- Capable of working independently in a self-directed environment
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma
- HSE regulatory knowledge
- OSHA 10/30 (preferred)
- Experience working within manufacturing industry (preferred)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Working Conditions/Environment:
An employee in this position works in a dynamic environment in which the plans can quickly change. The HSSE Admin will need to be able to adapt quickly and rely on their training and experience to meet team needs. The HSSE Admin must be proactive, well-organized, and disciplined. At least 70% of his/her shift will be spent on a computer. Proficiency with Microsoft Office amongst other common software’s is a must.
Primary Work Hours:
Monday through Friday (7:30am – 4:30pm) and as needed. Overtime may be periodically required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
