Responsibilities
- Consult with different departments to create comprehensive IT disaster recovery plans and conduct associated testing.
- Develop strategic business relationships with Business Technology Organizations (BTOs) to support IT BCP and disaster recovery projects.
- Act as a subject matter expert for business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Educate system owners on IT BCP and application criticality.
- Assist in crafting project plans, documentation, and presentations.
- Design processes and procedures for continuous improvement.
- Assist in supporting disaster recovery readiness for critical applications.
- Coordinate post-recovery exercise activities and follow-ups.
- Support and facilitate enterprise disaster recovery exercises.
- Conduct proof of concept testing for new systems or strategy fixes.
- Build capacity to support/manage IT disaster recovery during crises.
- Create and update documentation regarding DR strategies and test outcomes.
- Prepare reports to highlight gaps and drive process enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with current business continuity regulations and standards.
- Available to provide off-hours support for recovery exercises as needed.
- Must be located within 50 miles of Waukegan, Illinois.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 6 years of business continuity management and disaster recovery.
- Proficient knowledge of Business Continuity standards and techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal capabilities for working with global teams.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with ICS-based Incident Management processes.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Skills in conflict resolution, adaptability, and coordination.
- Must be available for after-hour emergencies or incident support.
- AWS Cloud solutions expertise.
- Familiarity with systems including servers, backups, virtualization, SAN, firewalls, VPN, and load balancers.
- Experience in ServiceNow, Fusion Risk Management, or Salesforce.com is a plus.
- Certified Business Continuity Planner or Business Continuity certifications (CBCI, CBCP, EDRP) are advantageous.
