Hunter Communications is searching for a skilled, hard-working Aerial Lineman to join our well-established, rapidly growing company, offering a thriving environment for employees with career training, a fully paid benefits package, and generous time off.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
- Place all hardware associated with the construction of fiber, CATV, copper and strand on both wooden and steel structures
- Operate and maintain all equipment and tools associated with Aerial and UG utility construction
- Know and follow all OSHA safety procedures related to do with utility construction.
- Install, remove, inspect and maintain overhead and underground lines and equipment.
- Work flexible hours, overtime, and take 24 hour on call duty rotating basis, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Operate equipment such as line trucks, aerial lift trucks, pulling equipment and backhoes.
- Perform work with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
- Must have the ability to work as a member of a team.
- Proficient with go95 codes and NESC code for utility construction]
- Perform all other duties assigned
- Maintain and possess climbing gear and own hand tools.
- Perform heavy manual labor, able to lift 70 lbs. on occasion.
- Read and interpret line construction plans and written instructions.
- Work, including travel, outdoors in adverse weather conditions day or night.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in utility construction, knowledge of fiber, telephone and CATV OSP.
- Minimum three years verifiable experience working under the supervision of a Journeyman utility lineperson
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Possession of a class valid class A Oregon driver’s license. (This position is subject to the U.S. D.O.T. and Federal Highway Administration regulations relating to controlled substance and alcohol use and testing)
- Must be versed in the safe operation of all aerial equipment.
- GO 95 proficient as well as NESC.
- Flagging, CPR, Forklift, Bucket truck and Manlift certified and a current Oregon Traffic Control Supervisor certification.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work outdoors in various types of weather and terrain.
- Must be able to perform heavy physical work and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Must be able to lift, reach, dig and carry heavy objects with frequent lifting up to 70 pounds as needed
- Hand and finger dexterity to carry and to use tools and equipment as necessary
- Ability to work while standing 80 - 90% of the time
- Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus; ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires
