Position Overview
The Industrial Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and efficiency of plant processes. This position is responsible for optimizing process flows, layouts, and productive capacity to meet delivery schedules while maintaining a safe and ergonomic work environment. By driving continuous improvement and collaborating with cross-functional teams, this role directly impacts the achievement of operational metrics and organizational goals.
What you'll do
- Perform weekly safety process walks and implement counter measures to address industrial engineering risks, ensuring zero accidents or ergonomic issues.
- Develop and implement optimal plant and process layouts to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Optimize processes, flows, efficiency and overall performance for the fabrication product lines.
- Measure, define, and audit cycle times for plant operations, ensuring alignment with forecasted volumes.
- Analyze process flows to balance production lines and optimize headcount requirements.
- Conduct ergonomic evaluations and lead multidisciplinary teams in completing industrial engineering studies.
- Define and validate cycle times, headcount, and process layouts for new processes and projects.
- Support special projects and remove roadblocks related to industrial engineering to achieve operational metrics.
- Establish SMART goals for Industrial Engineering KPIs and communicate risks or issues to the Engineering Site Lead.
- All other duties as assigned
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial engineering (5 years preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in process optimization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Effective communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficient planning and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects.
- High attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of core tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA).
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to travel (10% ).
