Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for insuring that plant equipment (process, utilities, and auxiliary support) is operating properly and to insure that a safe working environment is maintained. Performs routine maintenance support of production equipment and machine building. Trouble shoots and repairs equipment electrical and/or mechanical malfunctions. Performs electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing and pipefitting work associated with the installation of equipment. Assists in the building of new production equipment according to blueprints and schematics.

- Complying with all facility safety rules and regulations.
- Reporting any unsafe practices and/or conditions to their supervisor.
- Maintaining floor safety discipline by interceding with fellow employees, who may engage in rule violations and/or unsafe, unhealthy activities
- Communicating to management those employees who persist in violations of safety rules and/or procedures.
- Wearing required personal protective equipment properly and reporting any defective PPE.
- Reporting all near misses, accidents, injuries or illnesses, including Muscular Skeletal symptoms or disorders.
- Perform tasks requiring multiple skills such as complex building and equipment maintenance projects, machine troubleshooting and repair, etc.
- Must be proficient in one or more skills and/or knowledgeable of skills such as electrical work, electronics, welding, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, machinist, millwright, PLC programming, etc.
- Must keep work area(s) in neat, clean, safe and orderly condition.
- Perform all functions of the job in a safe and professional manner.
- Work alone or with other Maintenance personnel to carry out the essential functions of the job under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Specify and request procurement of (within limits of authority) materials and/or services needed for maintenance or repair.
- Provide support for all company established programs for continuous improvements such as ISO, Lean Manufacturing, Focus on Excellence, 5-S, etc.
- All other responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.
Who you are
- Minimum of two (2) years of demonstrated experience in industrial maintenance with technical two year degree or five (5) years’ experience in industrial maintenance.
- Additional maintenance skills training through accredited formal training programs.
- A solid knowledge of production, support, and auxiliary equipment associated
- with an industrial facility.
- A basic working knowledge of basic electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, machine shop, millwright, blueprint reading, and other general skills.
- A solid knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and other miscellaneous equipment necessary to perform the job.
- A solid knowledge of the occupational hazard and safety precautions of the work involved.
- Ability to work 2nd shift 3pm-1am Mon-Thurs
