- 2nd shift position (3:00pm-11:30pm)
- Entry Pay Rate: $17.51 ($18.74 with shift premium)
- Shift Premium: 2nd shift is 7% of base wage
Position Overview
The Hunter Douglas Plastics & Die Casting facility has manufactured and assembled plastic injection moldings in Owensboro, KY since 1981. This position is responsible for safely and efficiently assisting with coordination of the Assembly workforce, inventory control, troubleshooting and repair of machines to produce products that meet customer specifications in accordance with established policies and procedures.
What you'll do
- Coordinates and trains the assembly workforce in daily production requirements
- Sets up workstations for production and ensures materials are available at the work areas
- Pulls and puts up parts in the warehouse using powered industrial trucks
- May manually assemble injection molding and/or purchased components into semi-finished products or run production on automated and semi-automated machines
- May perform limited maintenance to prevent and resolve machine malfunctions
- Reviews all problems with operator on the previous and subsequent shift on all tasks assigned All other duties as assigned
- Perform cycle counts of inventory and participate in physical inventories
- All other duties as assigned
Who you are
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
- Proficient operation of industrial powered trucks is required
- Computer skills needed include MII, Excel, Access, Word, and Google Mail
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written operational procedures, assembly prints, criteria and other quality tools to safely and efficiently perform essential functions.
- Solid knowledge of basic mathematics to read measuring devices such as calipers and performs basic addition, subtraction of whole numbers and fractions
- Spot and eliminate quality issues and test product according to set quality criteria
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time, work in an environment with ever-changing priorities and safely work under pressure and at a fast pace
- Responsible for taking an active role in plant-wide safety activities, have a solid work history, strong work ethic, and be accommodating to shift work
- A high school diploma or GED is needed and the WorkKeys is also desired
- Ability to work a Monday–Friday schedule with weekend overtime as needed
