Position Overview:
Role in 2025 Current State - As a part of HR transformation, HD is consolidating & standardising payroll systems and providers. Thus for 2025, this role will be responsible to process 2 payrolls till transition is completed. They will also be involved in key transformation processes and will work closely with cross-functional teams such as HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors to implement HR data & payroll solutions. Additionally, they will play a key role to train and transition payroll pre-processing to outsourced vendor.
Role in 2026 Future State - This role is a blend of operational payroll oversight and client relationship management. The Payroll Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing the relationship between 3DB and our payroll service providers, ensuring smooth payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves responsibilities to ensure that the payroll process & delivery is efficient, accurate, and enhancing the overall employee payroll experience.
This role will report to head of Total Rewards Global Business Services and work closely with HR & Finance team of 3Day Blinds & other payroll managers in Global Business Services.
What you'll do?
- Acting as the primary point of contact between the company and external payroll vendors.
- Ensuring that the service provider meets the agreed-upon standards of service, timeliness, and compliance
- Overseeing payroll processing to ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.
- Reviewing payroll data and resolving discrepancies related to salary, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
- Ensuring that payroll processes adhere to local, state, and federal tax regulations and labor laws.
- Staying updated on any changes to tax codes or labor laws that could impact payroll.
- Generating payroll reports for internal departments, such as finance, HR, and management.
- Providing data-driven insights on payroll trends and cost analysis to optimize payroll operations.
Who you are?
- Payroll Knowledge: A deep understanding of payroll processes, taxes, and benefits. Familiar with commission based pay and draw process. Has processed CA payrolls with a minimum of 500 employees. Can you add system whose knowledge is critical for this role?
- Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with external vendors and internal teams. Experience with outsourced payroll vendor would be a plus. Work with other Company Payroll Relationship Managers for cross training purposes
- Problem-Solving: Ability to address and resolve payroll-related issues efficiently. Must be extremely organized, flexible, detail oriented with a process improvement mindset. Ensures monthly reports are being provided to accounting for month-end processing
- Attention to Detail: Ensuring payroll data is processed accurately. Providing timely reports for management reporting
- Project Management: Overseeing payroll projects or system upgrades.
- Compliance & Audit Knowledge & experience: Understanding of local and national labor laws and tax regulations. Handles SOX compliance payroll audits
