The Electrical Engineer designs, develops, troubleshoots, and maintains electrical and control systems for manufacturing operations.
What you will do:
- Support and strive towards safe operations in all facets of the manufacturing facility.
- Troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, inspect, and test a variety of production systems and equipment.
- Collaborate with the plant staff and outside vendors regarding equipment installations, upgrades, modifications, and spare or emergency parts.
- Create and/or modify PLC, HMI, and robot programs.
- Perform equipment failure analysis and work with a team to develop a preventive or predictive maintenance solution.
- Initiate projects and develop cost estimates with supporting data for financial justification.
- Develop and lead electrical/controls training sessions.
- Maintain current software and program backups to ensure timely recovery of critical processes.
- Follow standard design techniques, tools, and principles in creating and maintaining technical documentation and electrical drawings.
- Research, develop, design, test, and evaluate electrical components, equipment, and systems, applying principles and techniques of electrical engineering.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Additional Qualifications Include:
- A bachelors degree with a concentration in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or other related technical degrees is required.
- Experience in programming and troubleshooting in Allen-Bradley PLCs
- Advanced knowledge of industrial machine controls and automation, including the following: solid-state circuitry, electronics, robotics, electrical-mechanical devices, motors/drives, wiring diagrams and schematics, computers, etc.
- In-depth knowledge of computer networks, switches, and IP protocol
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of Products: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience using Microsoft Project and AutoCAD 2D.
