The Staff Accountant role will be a vital member of the accounting team, gaining broad exposure across a variety of areas and working directly with multiple leaders in the Accounting & Finance Team as well as with team members at the different branch locations. The role is focused on General Accounting, Project Accounting, month-end close activities, and Fixed Assets reconciliation and reporting, with the opportunity for special projects. This role is hybrid, with the flexibility to work from home two days a week.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for Fixed Assets, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and related journal entries and reconciliations.
- Process Payroll journal entries and monthly benefits payments and perform related account reconciliations.
- Perform accounting adjustments on Construction Projects and work closely with Accounting Manager and Business Unit leaders on project reporting and accounting.
- Perform general accounting journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Responsible for weekly cash reconciliations and monthly bank reconciliations
- Point of contact for all locations’ corporate credit cards and responsible for ordering new/replacement cards as needed.
- Maintain an accurate accounting ledger by properly and timely posting transactions.
- Develop strong relationships with the internal management team and local accounting teams.
- Attend relevant training sessions and meetings.
- Participate in adhoc projects needed.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 2 years accounting experience
- Experience with Great Plains, preferred
- Experience with Paylocity HRIS, preferred
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills and take initiative
- Ability to organize workload and adapt to change
- GAAP knowledge
- Reconciliation experience with a focus on fixed assets - month end close responsibility
- Experience in Supporting the Month End Close functions
- Excellent Vendor Communication - collaborate with internal staff and project managers in the field.
- Someone from a services Industry - companies who had employees with experience in project adjustments & job costing.
- Ability to roll with the punches and someone with a keen eye for process improvement

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
