What You’ll Be Doing :

As an Electronics Test Engineer Intern, you will research and develop hardware testing methodologies for existing controllers and controllers in development, expand testing to increase the coverage, and to create SOP and generalized testing strategies for hardware testing that can be understood by people without Electrical experience. You will also be responsible for designing test harnesses for different test types. Additionally, you will be able to identify new testing methodologies needed to expand the coverage of hardware testing for DVT and will create a standard for different types of hardware testing depending on the product being worked on.

What You’ll Learn :

You will have the opportunity to increase proficiency in electrical engineering principles, gain experience with various test equipment, develop strong analytical skills, develop the ability to design and execute test plans, and debugging techniques, and have the ability to work collaboratively with design engineers to identify and resolve hardware issues. You will be guided by working closely with existing hardware test engineers and design engineers and grow your skills by developing tests and having them evaluated by senior engineers for completeness and correctness.

Physical Demands :

Ability to sit for extended periods of time to use the computer, to perform paperwork activities, to attend meetings, etc. Intermittent walking to gain access to areas within the facility.

Ability to climb stairs to gain access to the upper-level work area.

Finger dexterity sufficient to use a computer and to complete paperwork activities.

Visual acuity sufficient to use a computer and to read and complete written documents.

Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals by telephone and in person.

Ability to bend, lift and carry books, files and office supplies and other items weighing up to 30 pounds.

Work Environment :

Office setting with temperature controls.
