Key Responsibilities
- Provide QA/QC oversight for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, with a strong focus on HVAC systems, electrical systems, and utility routing.
- Review plans, drawings, and specifications for compliance with project requirements and applicable codes.
- Conduct on-site inspections, walk projects, and climb ladders as needed to verify installation and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with field teams, contractors, and project managers to resolve issues, suggest alternatives for materials or methods, and ensure project continuity.
- Leverage deep knowledge of materials and construction processes to proactively address supply chain challenges and cost escalations while maintaining quality and compliance.
- Coach and lead diverse teams, promoting a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment without being adversarial or divisive.
- Maintain thorough documentation and communication regarding QA/QC processes, field reports, and issue resolution.
- 10 years of experience in MEP engineering or construction QA/QC, preferably with extensive field experience as an installer, inspector, engineer, or trainer.
- Strong engineering background with a focus on MEP systems.
- Extensive HVAC QA/QC knowledge and detailed understanding of electrical systems and utility routing.
- Familiarity with OSHA 500 safety regulations.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction plans, technical specifications, and building codes.
- Knowledge of local and national building codes including St. Louis County, NECA, NFPA, SMACNA, IBC 2020, and related standards.
- Effective leadership and communication skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
