Al Terry Plumbing and Heating Inc., located in Hooksett, NH, is one of NH’s premier plumbing and mechanical contractors. We are hiring Mechanic Plumbers who are licensed plumbers (NH is a must, ME, MA, VT a plus), and have 4 years of experience in the field.

- Trade experience with 4 years preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to effectively work with superiors and train newer tier plumbers
- The ability to install boilers, mechanical equipment, and troubleshoot equipment
- Experience in assembling, installing, and repairing pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems
- Experience in materials such as Copper (sweat & press) CPVC, PEX, PVC, Cast Iron, etc.
- Experience in gas piping systems and materials such as iron pipe, threaded and press fittings
- The ability to assess material and equipment needs by studying building plans and inspecting structures
- Experience in operating various hand tools, power tools, and machinery
- Comprehensive understanding of related trade and building codes
- Has strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Receptive to new ideas and questions
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Be able to address and manage moderate levels of stress
- Valid driver’s license
- Perform commercial plumbing and heating installation, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Abide by project guidelines and all safety requirements daily
- Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, and appliances such as disposals, ejector pumps, dishwashers and water heaters
- Install boilers, mechanical and other trade related equipment
- Install kitchen appliances including gas stoves, dishwashers, washers/dryers, ice makers, etc.
- Partner with the foreman in ordering and maintaining plumbing and mechanical supply inventory
- Work along with and train newer tier plumbers to achieve improvements in their productivity
- Drive compliance with plumbing and gas codes, direct construction employees and assess completed work
- Ability to lift & carry 50 pounds
- Prolonged periods of standing/walking
- Often squatting, reaching and working overhead
- Capacity to climb stairs and ladders
- Work at varying heights while on a ladder and/or gas or electric lifts
- Ability to work in all indoor and outdoor climates
