What are the responsibilities and job description for the Investment Associate (Private Equity), Family Office position at Hunter SF?
The Investment Associate supports the Managing Director, Private Investments in activities related to the private equity portfolios managed at the family office. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of an entrepreneurial culture on a small team with a very large fiduciary responsibility.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Managing Director, Private Investments in the implementation and execution of portfolio strategies, including the sourcing, selection, and monitoring of private equity investment opportunities.
- Support due diligence efforts, assisting in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of new and existing managers and co-invest opportunities as well as conducting detailed performance and portfolio analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of portfolio, strategy and investment-specific recommendations.
- Attend meetings with new and existing managers and take notes in calls/meetings attended.
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of current managers. Review quarterly and annual
- portfolio reporting, liasing with the operations team to validate accuracy and formatting and
- providing qualitative analysis of the data.
- Assist in creating Investment Committee materials and participate in meetings.
- Stay abreast of current developments in the institutional investment marketplace.
- Take part in industry events.
- Participate in ad hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 2-4 years of direct institutional investment work experience (e.g. in investment management, or other relevant fields).
- Well-developed analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong Excel, writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Able to take in data and synthesize quantitative and qualitative conclusions.
- Interest in financial markets and investing.
