Job at a Glance:
📍 Location: Can be located at any of the following Hunter Truck branch locations: Butler, Eau Claire, or Pittsburgh
🕒 Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
SUMMARY
This role manages cross communication between OEMs and Technicians focusing on hard-to-diagnose technical cases, reporting emerging issues, coaching technicians, improving labor recovery and shop throughput, and providing technical support for all departments throughout the dealership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Managing hard to diagnose issues throughout the dealer group providing technicians guidance while monitoring support cases
- Manage communication with Peterbilt Field Service
- Providing technical support to Parts, Sales, Service – which includes issues encountered with diagnostic software
- Implement and maintain accurate dealer group communication relating to technical topics including, but not limited to, emerging issues and field resolutions
- Warranty Support –
- Reinforce the service team and technicians the importance of following all warranty procedures, i.e. saving parts, receiving authorizations from manufacturers, etc.
- Complete non-time worksheets for diagnostic and work performed by both the DTM and technicians.
- Work closely with Warranty Central to maximize labor recovery on warranty repairs.
- Provide goodwill support for key customers
- Provide technical support for key customers regarding diagnostic tools
- Report emerging issues and technician training needs to the training department
- When DTM responsibilities are fulfilled, DTM will continue to contribute and support their home service department keeping their skills relevant.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (REQUIREMENTS SET BY PETERBILT DTM PROGRAM)
- 7 years Peterbilt Tech
- 5 years MX Tech
- Training
- Level ENG-200
- ENG-300 Online Courses Completed
- Equal to or Greater than ELEC-201
- ASE Certifications
- CANNOT be Asst. Service Manager or Above
- Good Communications Skills
- Supervisory Role/Experience (Foreman/Lead Tech/Level 4 Tech)
- Cummins and other Vendor Certifications
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
- Up to 50% of travel required, combined of local and overnights.
