Position Overview:As a Field Diesel Service Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in diagnosing and repairing vehicle components, ensuring that customer vehicles are up and running at optimal performance. You will work independently with minimal supervision and assist other technicians on major repairs.
What You’ll Do:
Perform diagnosis and repairs on customer vehicles, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Work directly at customer job sites to provide on-location service.
Communicate daily with dealership departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Document all work performed and handle customer-related concerns.
Open Electronic Diagnostic System (EDS) and Total Customer Solutions (TCS) cases.
Assist with major repairs and share expertise with other technicians.
Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training to keep skills sharp.
Ensure customer vehicles are kept clean per dealership standards.
Follow all health and safety policies to maintain a safe work environment.
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience:
Vocational/technical school graduate with 5 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Skills & Expertise:
Experience in engine/driveline troubleshooting, electrical repair, and A/C systems. Must have component overhaul experience and/or specialty expertise in areas like A/C or electrical.Certifications Required:
ASE Certifications
Drive Train Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck
HVAC Certification for Medium/Heavy Truck
State Vehicle Inspector Certification (Class 7)
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), meeting company insurability standards
MX Engine Certified
Cummins MD and HD Certification
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in various environments. Ability to handle work in high noise environments and deal with various mechanical hazards.
