Position Summary:
As a Lead Service Technician, you will play a key role in diagnosing and repairing most vehicle components with minimal supervision. You’ll be the go-to technician for complex repairs and will lead by example, ensuring that all work is performed efficiently, safely, and in line with dealership and factory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform unsupervised repairs and overhauls of major components.
- Diagnose and repair malfunctions based on customer complaints and inspections.
- Handle electrical, air conditioning, and drivetrain system repairs.
- Collaborate with parts departments to ensure timely acquisition of necessary parts.
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, including warranty claims.
- Consistently maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency, exceeding 80% and 95%, respectively.
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Participate in training programs and stay updated on manufacturer bulletins.
- Perform road tests and inspections of vehicles for any damage or drivability issues.
- Assist and mentor fellow technicians to ensure a smooth workflow and successful repairs.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Vocational/technical school graduate preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.
- Must be proficient in engine, driveline, electrical, and air conditioning troubleshooting.
- Component overhaul experience (specialty in A/C or electrical systems is a plus).
- Must own a basic set of hand tools for most repair tasks.
Certifications:
- Ability to pass OEM/vendor training and certification programs.
Additional Requirements:
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable by the company.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others.
- Ability to meet or exceed industry time standards and maintain high productivity levels.
