Job Summary
We are seeking Temporary Process Operators to support operations at our minerals extraction pilot plant. The plant handles hot brine streams through a system of pumps, tanks, and mixers to precipitate and recover valuable minerals. The role involves process monitoring, material handling, sampling, maintenance and basic lab testing.
This is hands-on role ideal for individuals with mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a strong sense of safety and responsibility in an industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor pumps, mixers, valves, and other equipment handling hot brine and mineral slurry.
- Prepare and label process and product samples at designated intervals.
- Perform tests using moisture balances.
- Measure pH levels using digital pH meters and properly care for pH probes.
- Conduct iron concentration tests using provided methods and equipment.
- Record all process data accurately and maintain sample logs.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting and maintenance of process equipment.
- Follow safety protocols when handling hot fluids, chemicals, and electrical devices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Comfortable working around hot fluids, tanks, and industrial pumps.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in hot/humid conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, safety, and procedural compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a lab, pilot plant, equipment maintenance or industrial process environment preferred.
- Familiarity with basic testing equipment (pH meters, balances, etc.) is a plus.
Additional Information
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided (safety glasses, gloves, dust masks, hat) and training on safety and procedures will be conducted.
- Long sleeve shirts and steel-toed boots are required.
- This position requires weekend and night shifts on a rotating basis.
