Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Director of Laboratory Services located in Flemington, NJ. The Director will oversee day-to-day operations of the laboratory, manage staff, develop and maintain laboratory protocols, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for directing, coordinating, and controlling the operation of the Laboratory Department.

Primary Position Responsibilities

1.

Fiscally responsible for all areas of the department which includes creating, implementing and monitoring all budgets.

2.

Oversees all personnel management including hiring, performance evaluations and disciplinary action when necessary

3.

Takes personal responsibility for formulating, executing, and evaluating new ideas to improve performance, service, and quality and to adapt to changes in laboratory science and healthcare.

4.

Oversees adherence to all federal, state, local, Joint Commission and College of American Pathology rules, regulations, and standards related to the practice of laboratory science. Incorporates any new or changing conditions immediately and effectively.

5.

Monitors and mentors supervisors and staff in all areas of laboratory science, human resource issues, patient satisfaction, national patient safety goals, continuing education, and other appropriate areas.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology

Preferred:

Master’s Degree in Hospital Management or related field

Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):

Required:

Minimum of three years supervisory/management experience in Laboratory Science
