Position Summary
The Respiratory Care Practitioner/Educator possesses sufficient training and experience to perform independent professional respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, clinical evaluations of care including the establishment of therapeutic objectives and the review of care. In addition, educate all respiratory and nursing staff as well as competencies for specific respiratory procedures. Supports the mission, philosophy and objectives of Hunterdon Medical Center.

2. Facilitates and coordinates duties relating to respiratory care
3. Documentation and charging of patient care
4. Maintains Professional Development
5. Education of Patient & Family
6. Patient Advocate
7. Maintain Patient Safety
8. Other Duties as Assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
Required:
Graduate from a respiratory therapy program. Associate degree in a healthcare field.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degee in a healthcare field
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation):
Required:
Two years of acute care experience
Preferred:
Five years of acute care experience; teaching experience
License, Registry or Certification:
Required:
New Jersey License in Respiratory and CPR certification; ACLS certification required; if not ACLS certified upon hire, must obtain within two years.
Preferred:
PALS certification.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Required:
The ability to function independently, computer skills. Use and teach information regarding hospital approved equipment including but not limited to bipap/cpap; ventilators; end tidal CO2 and all other components of respiratory care.
