What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Operator position at Hunters Run Country Club?
POSITION SUMMARY: To operate and care for golf course maintenance equipment by performing the following duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operates various mowers, tractor-drawn mowers, loaders, dump trucks and portable pumps for various course needs.
- Maintains equipment by cleaning and inspecting machinery after each use.
- Reports machinery or equipment problems to the Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent immediately.
- Loads, unloads and hauls dirt, debris and other material and refuse.
- Collects and empties litter receptacles.
- Cut grass, weeds and bushes.
- Acknowledges members and guests with a proper greeting and smile.
- All other tasks assigned by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance, Golf Course Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent.
Education / Experience
- Have a minimum of 1-year related experience.
Qualifications/Skills
- Must be able to understand basic commands in English and have basic communications skills.
- Have basic knowledge of mechanical operation of trucks, other motorized equipment, and common construction* and maintenance tools.
- Must be able to properly operate a gas or electric powered golf cart.
- Available to work weekends and holidays.

- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent walking, reaching, climbing, bending, turning, pushing, pulling. The employee is regularly required to use hands to handle and operate; reach with hands and arms; see, talk and hear.
- Extensive outside exposure to heat and sun. Precautions should be taken.
- Specific vision abilities include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- This is a hands-on position that works with equipment that requires safety training.
- Ability to understand and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
