Job Details Description RESPONSIBILITIES: Welder 1, 2, 3 Study/follow job order, documentation and sample product to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece. Select material/equipment to plan and follow through with layout, assembly and welding. Repair product as needed. Clean work area, machines, tools and equipment. Other duties as assigned. Set up equipment and weld parts, using various arc, gas shielded arc, or gas welding equipment. Inspect welded joints to ensure welds meet company standards, national code requirements and customer job 5E. Submits orders to the purchasing department for materials. Manages workflow of welding area. WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts; in high perch places; and in outside weather conditions. Frequent exposure to fumes or air particles (red hot metal), v point of light requiring sight protection, and risk of electrical shock. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or the equivalent is preferred. Welding certification a plus. Have mechanical skills. Ability to interpret blueprints. Have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes and materials. Able to Mig weld, Tig weld, Stick weld, run various cutting torches and plasma arc cut. Must be willing to work with molten lead and submit to bi-annual testing for lead. Must possess organizational and leadership skills. Able to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel. Able to provide improvement to processes as required. Must have a valid driver’s license and record that conforms to company’s insurance policies, ATF, DOT, and State of other required Hazmat training. Authorized to work in the United States. Able to meet ATF & regulatory security requirements.
