Responsibilities
Production Support:
- Assess daily workloads and priorities and assign work to inspectors.
- Oversee and assist inspectors to assure that assignments are completed in a timely manner, with high quality.
- Establish metrics to measure the inspection team’s performance and use these metrics to determine manpower requirements and team performance improvement goals.
- Manage the nonconforming material control and disposition process and assure that nonconforming product is dispositioned accurately and in a timely manner.
- Escort NDE Personnel and ensure they have needed information to complete operations. Serve as primary contact for onsite vendor related to inspections.
- Work with project management team to ensure proper NDE scheduling.
- Determine inspection equipment needs for both manufacturing and inspection. Review needed equipment at project kickoff.
- Establish inspection methods and procedures and assure the personnel are familiar with and operating in compliance to these methods and procedures.
- Develop and manage the calibration requirements of all measuring devices of the company.
- Ensure all measuring devises are available at the point of use, are within their calibration limits, and are properly cared for.
- Work with calibration vendors and supply chain to make sure all devices are calibrate properly with certifications.
- Participate in implementing company strategic plan goals, quality program initiatives, safety objectives, continuous improvement efforts, lean manufacturing techniques, good housekeeping practices, corrective action implementation, quick changeover initiatives, and other company-wide initiatives at improving productivity and increasing profitability.
- Develop and conduct training for all employees on the proper use, handling and care of all precision measuring devices.
Required Skills and Experience:
- High School Diploma, or GED.
- Preferred: A College degree in Quality, Manufacturing Business Administration, Engineering or related field and/or the equivalent combination of education with 5 years industry experience. Additional training in the quality functions, sciences, disciplines to include 6-sigma desired
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years leadership experience as a Quality Control Supervisor in a manufacturing organization.
- Thorough understanding of measuring devices and their calibration requirements.
- Experienced in training and educating mechanical technicians in the proper use of inspection tools, use and care.
- Knowledgeable of Quality standards, references, guidelines and can interpret those standards to best fit our culture and climate.
- Participated in and understands the requirements to ISO 9001:2015 and/or API
- Experience with NDE techniques including MT, PT, RT, UT, AUT and visual inspection.
- Familiarity with welding and welding inspection.
- Experienced in interpreting technical standards.
- Must be able to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization both orally and through written procedures and policies.
- Understanding of and can promote process improvement, developing standards, managing processes supporting manufacturing methods and procedures.

- The ability to work planned and unplanned overtime.
- On-Site presence is required.
- This position will require working primarily indoors in a smoke-free office and manufacturing facility but may also require the employee to be outdoors approximately 20% of time.
- Limited travel will be required to support offsite personnel and business projects.
- Occasional assignments may include evening or weekend shifts as necessary.
- The noise level is usually moderate. Employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts.
