What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Microbiologist position at Hunting?
- Lead and facilitate the development and progression of OOR technology as regards the microbiological practices and laboratory work.
- Assist with the creation of internal processes to support the delivery of the existing technology as well as any new advancements of the technology from creation to commercialization
- Work closely with Chief Scientist and other laboratory staff to understand and develop the OOR know-how and supporting laboratory processes.
- Recruit and support the coaching and training of Graduate Microbiologists and Laboratory Technicians and their overall role in successful project delivery
- Support the development of Technology & Technical related procedures and standards, certifying technological processes and procedures. Reviewing and updating Technology & Technical procedures as legislative or best practice changes occur. Primarily this will relate to standards and procedures with which commercial laboratories of this nature are expected to comply to, however this may also include full compliance to the standards which Hunting are certified to such as ISO 9001, API Q1, ISO 14001 & ISO 18001.
- Maintaining and surpassing the necessary Group, Company, Industry, National and International standards, regulations, statutes, compliance and other governmental guidance to ensure as far as is reasonably practicable, that best practices in the field of Microbiology are exercised
- Developing, producing and maintaining regular reports to inform Line Manager of OOR laboratory projects status
- Defining, developing and persistently instilling efficient and effective process control and policy compliance with respect to the OOR laboratory’s performance
- Be aware of the technical competencies within the upstream Oil & Gas market they support and recognise when technical or logistical challenges may arise.
- Responsibility for the engagement and communication with Customer management teams to coordinate and successfully ease any technical queries they may pose.
- Work closely with local resources, either internal or subcontracted, to ensure a clear understanding of the scope of work between both OOR and the customer
- Promoting Hunting Health, Safety and Environmental policies, and communicating effective awareness of the risks and hazards to all personnel and maintain controls necessary for their safety and that of others
- Performing all duties in accordance with the Company’s Quality Procedures and work Instructions in order to deliver and maintain the highest standards of quality for all products and services
- Developing self within role and participate in and develop from training and developmental activities assigned to oneself
- Understanding Hunting’s service and product offerings
- Establishing self as a subject matter expert with customer and expert in designated technical/professional discipline
- Creating and maintaining good working relationships
- Understanding and using the correct reporting lines
