Description
The Assistant Controller is responsible for directing the organization's external reporting, including Regulatory and SEC Reporting, as well as Corporate Accounting Policy, Corporate Treasury accounting, and certain other corporate accounting functions residing within the Controllership function. Additional responsibilities include the analysis and interpretation of trends requiring management's attention, the preparation of financial, regulatory and management reports and procedures and the presentation of findings and specific recommendations to senior management. This position is also responsible for establishing and maintaining strong corporate relations with Huntington’s external auditors and regulatory authorities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for external financial reporting (SEC and Regulatory) for both the holding company and the bank.
Oversee the SEC reporting team in the planning, preparation and review of the periodic Form 10-Q and 10-K filings and is a key partner in reviewing the quarterly earnings press release materials, the Proxy and other 8-K required filings, including debt offerings.
Oversee the Regulatory Reporting team in the planning, preparation and review of the periodic bank and holding company regulatory filings, including the Call Report and FR Y-9C, 2052A, Market Risk Rule as well as all financial reporting related to Huntington's participation in the Federal Reserve's Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR).
Oversee the CCAR regulatory reporting process which includes the submission of FR Y-14 monthly, quarterly and annual reporting schedules.
Oversee the Corporate Accounting Policy team and the promulgation of all accounting guidance at Huntington.
Oversee the Corporate Treasury and select Capital Markets accounting teams within the Controllership function.
Drive change management to comply with new accounting and reporting requirements that impact the SEC and Regulatory reporting areas.
Ensure that all reporting requirements are met in a complete, timely and well-controlled manner.
Provide guidance and lead the conclusions of regulatory interpretations of risk-based capital requirements and classifications based on research performed by the regulatory reporting teams.
Prepare presentations for executive management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and actively participate on various management-level committees including the Capital Management Committee, the sub ALCO Committee, the ACL Committee and the SOX 404 Committee.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
BS or BA
15 years of progressive responsibility work experience in accounting and finance
Must hold a senior leadership position in a complex financial services environment
Must have experience in external reporting (SEC & Regulatory)
Must have experience in leading through transformational change, including acquisition and integration and ERP system implementation.

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
