Position Title: Corporation Nurse
Terms of Employment: 215 days
Evaluated By: Chief Operations Officer
Job Summary
Assist in the implementation of school health services including acute, chronic, episodic, and emergency care as well as advocacy for students. The corporation nurse will provide direct student care when needed and will provide support to nurses and clinic assistants providing day-to-day care for students.
Employment Requirements
- Licensed as RN with a BSN in nursing by the state of Indiana
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification

Essential Job Duties
- Practices professional nursing in accordance with the parameters and requirements of the Indiana Nurse Practice Act, state and federal laws and requirements, school policies and procedures, and recommended best practices for the nursing care of children at school.
- Provide support for the overall system of healthcare in the school corporation.
- Completes all IDOE statewide training related to school nursing.
- Conducts reviews and evaluations on all building clinic/nursing staff.
- Reviews all policies and procedures related to health and wellness.
Primary responsibility for planning all professional development for clinical staff. Assists in creation of a new Medicaid reimbursement program for nurses.
- Organizes and conducts state mandated screenings including vision.
Provides management of required and recommended immunizations for all students. Manages all emergent medication compliance and emergency equipment including ordering medications and training staff.
Provides health education presentations including dental and hygiene and as requested. Functions as school health liaison with Huntington County Health Department.
- Meets all aspects of the Classified Employee Handbook.
- Performs all other duties as requested.
