Compensation Range:
Anticipated Base compensation rate is in the range of $52.45 - $78.02 / Hour depending on qualifications and experience.*12 hour shifts at Huntington Health are overtime-based (not a straight time rate for all 12 hours). Therefore, employees who work a full 12-hour shift will be paid their base rate for 8 hours AND overtime (1.5) for hours up to 12.Department:
634001 Psychiatric - ICUExpectations:
Provides clinical assessment and evaluation of individuals on the hospital premises for the purpose of crisis intervention which may include a determination for a 5150 involuntary detainment as a result of a mental illness. Responsible for the day-to-day integration of psychiatric department resources with the needs of other clinical departments and organizations within the community such as nursing facilities, physicians' offices, hospitals, therapists, etc. Assumes a proactive role in extending clinical expertise and guidance to any department or community entity, as required, in helping to manage the care of psychiatric patients outside of the Della Martin Center. May require Patient Flow Coordination duties for designated hours and to cover vacations and extra shifts. This position may require flexibility of hours.EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree (BSN) required. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion within 2 years of date of hire or date of transfer to an RN position. Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:
Minimum of 6 months post-license experience in an Mental Health field required and 1 year crisis intervention experience through acute inpatient mental health experience preferred.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required:
Current unrestricted Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Designation issued by Los Angeles County, Department of Mental Health within 9 months of hire/transfer
Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)
Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association
SKILLS:
Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and standards by JCAHO, DMH and other regulatory agencies.
