Job Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant is responsible for:
- Positive patient relations and proper telephone communication
- Verification of patient information through interviewing and confirming purpose of visit
- Preparing patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature, and reporting patient history summary
- Appointment scheduling and routine duties associated with collecting and maintaining current patient demographics and insurance information
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinical/medical office setting (1 year preferred)
- Certifications such as Current Medical Assistant Certification and Basic Life Support Provider issued by The American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications
We also prefer candidates with:
- Associate Degree or College Diploma
- Current Certified Registered Medical Assistant issued by California Certifying Board for Medical Assistants
