What are the responsibilities and job description for the MGR QUALITY 2 position at Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc.?
This position has two primary areas of responsibility. The first is to be responsible for all aspects of preparation and execution of SEP audits, both ship specific and functional audits. These responsibilities include administrative coordination of the audit as well as gathering of OQE, assembling the audit support team, interfacing directly with SUPSHIP and NAVSEA auditors, and reviewing audit card responses from functional area managers.
The second area of responsibility is to ensure all of the SEP requirements are met for certification at major key events (Fast Cruse, Sea Trials and Unrestricted Operations) to support the SUBSAFE Program Director certification. This includes oversight of the Ship and Director Pre-Requisite Lists and Area of Responsibility Certifications (AORC), review of work completion OQE, drafting and reviewing certification letters, and submittal of status audit cards.
This position reports to the SUBSAFE Program Director but will be expected to perform the duties listed above with minimal oversight or direction.
This benchmark code is intended for job classifications that have supervisory/management responsibilities over more than one functional area in this family or over the entire job family.
Successful candidate must possess a well-developed set of communication skills – presentation, written, and interpersonal. Will frequently interface with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, from deckplate to boardroom. Must clearly articulate complex engineering concepts, needs, findings, and ideas to non-technical personnel.
Primary work location is an office setting with occasional meetings and inspections in an industrial or shipboard environment. Should be capable of climbing ladders, accessing confined spaces and tolerating extreme temperature variations. Some travel will be required.
Candidate should have a diverse background of experiences with a wide variety of submarine systems and structures. The candidate should have a strong knowledge of SEP principles, priorities and requirements.
