Job Description

Seeking an individual with a background in Electrical Design who is proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and Word. A basic understanding of ship design practices and blueprint reading skills is required. Applicant will be directly involved in electrical design and development of drawings associated with ship modification and overhauls. Applicant will be responsible for following applicable drawings procedures and standards.

Individual needed to support Planning Yard Electrical / Combat group by way of preparing designs to support upgrades / modifications to Combat shipboard Electrical systems. Individual will be validating shipboard conditions and developing plans / sketches for new installs / upgrades on existing Navy Ships. Individual will also convert sketches / mark-ups into AutoCAD drawings as required.

Basic Qualifications

Associate's degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years experience : High school diploma and 7 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of all Electrical / Combat systems on US Navy Surface Combatants

Candidate should have over all computer literacy skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines during the drawing development process.

Ability to ship check and provide detailed mark-ups to support drawing development

Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft products

Ability to work alone or as part of team with minimum supervision during ship checks and in off-site office.

Ability to obtain secret clearance

Shipboard experience with LCS, LPD, LHD, and LHA ships will be a plus
