This opportunity resides with Global Security (GS) , a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Global Security comprises live, virtual, constructive training and range systems, services and operations; fleet maintenance, repair, operations and sustainment; nuclear; and international. As a trusted partner to our military customers, HII designs, develops and operates the largest LVC enterprise that prepares warfighters for cross-domain battle.
The objective of the Space Protection and Response Solutions contract is to provide innovative technological solutions to ensure our Nation's space mission capabilities in a multi-domain, joint and coalition conflict. We're looking for an experienced software engineer to use the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling simulation software to support space control and multi-domain operations. These simulations will support force structure planning, National Space Test and Training Complex - Digital, Joint Combatant Command analysis and operations support, Space Force test and training, and research and development of space systems. As a Software Engineer 3, you will be expected to maintain and manage workflow of junior engineers, in addition to leading projects under the program. The majority of work will be on-site at Kirtland AFB, inside of a JWICS terminal for classified information exchange, team meetings, and with periodic travel to support various customers across the continental U.S.
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and / or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensures software standards are met.
